What is your name?

William Timothy Robinson III “Trey”

What is your Height/Weight?

6’1/2 217 LB

What is your position?

Safety

Where do you play college football?

Furman University

Football is about giving back, what is the coolest thing you have done off the field?

Been able to help with the youth at one of the local elementary schools, just coming in and spending time with them and listening to what they had to say.

What was the hardest college class you ever had to take?

Statistics with Dr. Roe. Toughest class I ever had.

Where are you from?

Spartanburg, South Carolina. Dorman “University” High School

Who is your role model, and why?

My parents I’ve seen them sacrifice so much for me day in and day out. I just thank them for everything.

Did you play any other sports growing up?

Baseball and I played basketball throughout High School

Did you play any other positions in football?

I played Quarterback my entire life, I never played DB until I came to Furman.

At your position, what separates you from others?

I am a big safety, but I still have the ability to play in space and be a ball hawking safety and not just the run supporter of the two.

When you are breaking down film, what do you look for?

I begin with formation tendencies, are they more run then pass in a given formation. Then transfer to group each formation by the top plays in each formation. Last I focus on tendencies of receivers and backs.

Who was the toughest player you ever faced?

Odell Beckham

If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be and why?

Eric Berry, He is just a playmaker, no matter what his role is. either patrolling the middle of the field or coming up in run support, he makes plays.

What was the biggest obstacle in your life you had to overcome, and how did you overcome it?

One of the toughest obstacles was nearly giving up football after my senior year in high school. I had offers from SCSU and Western Carolina to play quarterback, but neither seemed like the right fit for me. I was going to go to USC Columbia and just be a student. It was tough for me to almost give up football, but Furman called me two days before signing day and the rest is history.

Do you have any pre-game rituals?

I say a prayer before every game on the sideline and I tape my fingers no matter if I’m wearing gloves or not.

What is your biggest strength?

Being a ball hawking safety

What is your biggest weakness?

Fluidity in my back pedal, I haven’t been doing it for that long.

If I were a GM and gave you a second to sell yourself, what would you say?

You are getting a selfless player that is going to work hard and will be able to pick up the scheme quickly. Also, are getting a play maker that has a high football IQ.

Who was your favorite player and/or NFL team growing up?

I was a Mike Vick fan. He was the man back in the day.

If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would you choose?

J Cole, Bernie Mac and Lebron James

What will be the first big item you buy once you are in the NFL?

A blacked out Charger. I’ve always wanted one.
