What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

I decided I wanted to be a football player because I love to compete and it’s a physical sport where you have the ability to assert your dominance on others.

What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?

I want to become a starter on a professional team. Continue to improve my game and learn from some of the best coaches in the league. Also continuing to keep my body in top shape to perform at a high level each and everyday.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

If I had the chance to hang out with a professional football player it would be Trent Williams. I relate my playing style to his and I want to interact with community like he does off the field. I believe he will be able to give me tips on how to improve my game to make me unstoppable on the field. I also think that he would be a great person to sit down and have a conversation about life decisions to continue to be successful.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

My college career were my favorite moments from my football life because I was apart of winning tradition and culture at IUP. I was a 2x PSAC West Champion, 2x PSAC Champion, and I was a DII Super Region One Champion. Nothing is better than winning games with my brothers that I have been grinding with everyday!!!

Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?

I can’t really just pick one, but my mother and father inspire me the most in my life. They go out everyday and work hard to make sure me and sister are well taken care, is the most inspiring thing. I want to be able to take care of my family the same way one day in the near feature, and I will keep grinding until I can do just that.

What is your favorite offensive scheme and why?

My favorite offensive scheme is the Pro-Style offense because it gives the offensive line the chance to run the ball dominantly, while still having the ability to pass the ball effectively in certain situations.

What should we know about Darrell Davis the person?

I am a hardworking and goal oriented person on and off the field. You will always catch me doing something to improve and develop my skills to be able to compete at a high level. I love hanging out with my family and friends when I’m not training or playing football. I’m the type of person that will take full advantage of every opportunity that is given to me.

What stands out about your film the most?

My desire to finish every block relentlessly and how consistent I play throughout games.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

I handle challenges both in life and on the football field by mentally telling myself control what you can control, which I learned from my offensive line coach. In life you can’t worry about what everyone else thinks and says just make sure you make the right decisions to be successful. On the field all you can control is the next play and what happened in the past leave it behind you.

What would a team get in a player like you?

Any team that gives me the opportunity will get a player that will be ready to grind day in and day out to help the team be successful. I will study the opponent as much as I can do that I am more then prepared when it’s time to compete. I also adapt to new things quickly and I’m always willing to learn new techniques to improve my game.

What do you love the most about the game of football?

I love that you get the ability to physically dominate people you are going against. Also the fact that you get to win championships with your family of teammates and coaches after grinding everyday.

Who is the most underrated player you’ve played with and why?

The most underrated player that I have played is Collin Pietropola who was the heartbeat of the offensive line. At the center position on the offensive line it is extremely important that the right calls are made because that allows everyone else to make the necessary calls. He doesn’t get much recognition outside of our team but he’s definitely a major reason why we win football games.
