Player Summary:

5th YR GR and 1 yr full-time starter at RB in the zone heavy blocking scheme of UTBY where he receives approximately 10-15 carries per game. He transferred from CAUN prior to the 2022 season. He has quality height, elite weight with adequate speed, muscular arms, powerful legs and adequate length. He is an ordinary athlete showing a combination of average acceleration and explosiveness with adequate balance, COD, lateral quickness and agility with average play speed. He shows good vision as he quickly finds the open hole on zone runs. He exhibits solid patience as he waits for the block to be set up on counter runs. He shows average burst through the hole and keeps his feet moving on contact before pushing the pile and falling forward for extra yardage. He is a solid receiver in the passing game running mainly swing and flat routes. He displays quality hands due to very good manual dexterity allowing him to possess a catch radius that enables him to make the catch with his hands away from his body. He uses his average play speed to pick up a first down after the catch is made if there are no defenders in his vicinity. He is good in pass pro as he effectively chips the EDGE before heading out into the flat. When he stays in to pass protect, he locates the blitzing LB, squares up and uses his good play strength and solid UOH in his punch, placement and timing as he negates the progress of ILB and EDGE with subpar play strength and physical toughness. He exhibits above-average competitive toughness both physically at the POA in pass pro and while running the ball as he doesn’t shy away from contact as well as mentally as he plays well in big games. Ordinary athleticism limits his playmaking ability as a receiver and runner due to him struggling to consistently outrun LB and DB with solid AA and play speed. Adequate lateral quickness and agility prevents him from getting to the edge quickly and turning the corner. He struggles to run with a low center of gravity allowing LB and DB who play with good leverage and quality hip explosiveness to make the tackle.

Scheme Fit:

3 down back in a zone blocking scheme.

Power Statement:

Tough, reliable back who excels as a north-south downhill runner and shows exceptional hands in the passing game. Ordinary AA limits his playmaking ability as a runner and receiver.
