Pittman’s Pocket: Finding Diamonds for HBCU Programs | High school and JUCO prospects candidates to recruit

Brian Pittman is one of our gurus looking at high school and JUCO prospects around the country, and he wanted to showcase several players at the High School and JUCO level that could quickly help an HBCU program. Pittman’s Pocket was designed to give HBCU football a platform on NFL Draft Diamonds because we started our company working with only HBCU programs, so it is great to give back to the schools that helped establish our company!

Within the last week of running the HBCU prospect highlight recruits to recruit in this year’s 2023 recruiting class, things seem to have picked up HBCU recruiting buzz. Prospects like Chris Carter from Garden City CC had 2 more with FAMU & Southern, and Ikani Tuiono racked up offers from Norfolk State, Alabama State, FAMU & TSU. Alvon Isaac who was featured last week landed offers from Bethune Cookman and Grambling State. Michael Coates from East Mississippi CC at Cornerback picked up Southern University.

So yes, HBCU family things can be done, and by being a part of the NFLDRAFTDIAMONDS HBCU family because this is the greatest experience to share. So let’s show off the next set of prospects!

  • Name: Philip Short
  • JERSEY #: 2
  • POSITION(S): QB
  • HEIGHT: 6’2″
  • WEIGHT: 210lbs
  • CLASS OF: 2023
  • TWITTER: @Philip_short7

Philip is a dynamic dual-threat Qb from Holmes CC, with up to 2,000 yards passing and a couple of turnovers. The kid still has the pedigree and stats with a Completion passing over 68%. Strong arm, and quick feet when needed at 6’2, 215 4.5. Also plays Baseball. Check out his film:

  • Name: Stephen Hall
  • JERSEY #: 1
  • POSITION(S): CB
  • HEIGHT: 6’2″
  • WEIGHT: 195lbs
  • CLASS OF: 2023
  • TWITTER: @Stephen1hall

Stephen is your prototype of a JUCO cornerback you seek and search vast high grass to find, especially if the kid has 6’2 195 4.48 speed and size. You can’t deny the thirst for SWAC potentials like Willie Brown of Grambling St. Or Ken Riley at FAMU.

  • Mamadou Ba
  • JERSEY #: 11
  • POSITION(S): WR
  • HEIGHT: 6’6″
  • WEIGHT: 190lbs
  • CLASS OF: 2023
  • GPA: 2.8
  • Collège Vanier – Mens Varsity Football
  • Montreal, QC ??

Mamadou is a stud up in Canada and its Junior College league. Already Mamadou has picked up Delaware State. I believe with his skill set and asset to go and get the ball make this Canadian prospect one to evaluate and further potentially land a few more HBCU offers.
