The Indianapolis Colts are benching their starting quarterback. Matt Ryan is officially being benched by the Colts.
The Colts will turn to Sam Ehlinger as their starter against the Washington Commanders.
Colts head coach Frank Reich is making the move to get the more mobile Ehlinger in at quarterback.
Ehlinger is a 24-year-old gunslinger who was a four year starter at Texas, earning All-Big 12 honors. Ehlinger was selected by the Colts in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
