Player Summary

RS-SR. 2 Year Starter along O-Line. Currently and primarily as OC, but has played RG in PAST spread/zone offensive scheme. Poor height, very good weight, and above-average speed, with a thick, sturdy base, muscular upper body, and good length. He is an average athlete, displaying good play strength, balance, and COD; average quickness, acceleration, and explosion. As a run blocker he has a quick first step, good hand placement, and rolls hips very well, as he keeps feet moving. He is willing to impose his will on a defender when he gets the opportunity, showing his physical toughness. When he has good guard play, as the OC he does an average job at climbing to the 2nd level and getting his hands on defenders, and can struggle on pulls and needing to get downfield quickly. In both run blocking and pass pro, he does a good job at redirecting the defender and sealing off the edge/hole, although shows below-average ability to move and drive defenders off the ball if he is one-on-one. As a pass blocker, he plays with a sturdy, wide base, and engages with the defender quickly. He shows good hand placement on the interior of the chest, average punch, keeps his feet moving, and eyes looking for work when he is vacated. He can tend to get high in his stance, but due to him having below-average height it does not hurt him. He does a good job at handling power and bull rush with his thick base, and has average agility and good instincts to help him recover against speed. Can sometimes get over his toes in pass pro, lunging to make contact with the defender, but shows good balance to maintain block. With his experience at RG, it helps him handle some speed moves at OC and work in a tight space based off of the PAST scheme.

Scheme Fit:

OC/Zone

Power Statement:

Strong, instinctive, tough player that is sufficient in the run and pass game, but may struggle with the speed and technique at the next level.
