Top 5 NCAA FCS Football Matchups Week 2

The University of Tennessee-Martin at Missouri State University

In a playoff rematch from last year these 2 teams are both ranked. Missouri State’s offense has junior wide receiver Ty Scott who had 160 receiving yards in the first game against Central Arkansas. The Skyhawks defense has John Ford II grad linebacker who had 13 tackles, 1.5 TFLs and 1 sack against Western Illinois week 1. Offensively for UT Martin they have redshirt sophomore running back Zak Wallace who had 139 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns in Martin’s first win of the season against Western Illinois. The Bears defense has redshirt senior defensive lineman Anthony Payne who had 2 TFLs and 2 sacks against Central Arkansas.

UC Davis at South Dakota State University

In another playoff rematch from last year this one should be interesting. South Dakota State’s offense is led by junior running back Isaiah Davis who had 701 rushing yards and 7 touchdowns in 2021. For UC Davis’s defense they have sophomore linebacker Teddye Buchanan who had 8 tackles and 1 interception against Cal. Senior running back Ulonzo Gilliam Jr had 115 rushing yards and 1 touchdown in UC Davis’s first game. Defensively for the Jackrabbits they have senior linebacker Isaiah Stalbird who had 6 tackles and 1 TFL in the Jacks opening game against Iowa.

University of Northern Iowa at University of North Dakota

The Panthers meet the Fighting Hawks in this one. North Dakota’s offense has sophomore running back Isaiah Smith who had 104 rushing yards against Nebraska. Defensively for the Panthers they have grad defensive back Korby Sander who had 11 tackles against Air Force. Deion McShane senior wide receiver had 106 receiving yards against the Falcons of Air Force week 1. Defensively for the Fighting Hawks they have junior defensive lineman Ben McNaboe who had 5 tackles, 1.5 TFLs, 1.5 sacks and 1 forced fumble against Nebraska in week 1.

Campbell University at William & Mary

Tribe against the Camels should be a good one. For the Tribe offense they have senior running back Bronson Yoder who had 120 rushing yards and 1 touchdown against Charlotte in their huge win. Defensively for Campbell they have sophomore linebacker CJ Tillman who had 11 tackles and 1 forced fumble against the Citadel. The Camels offense has Grad running back Bryant Barr who had 107 rushing yards and 1 touchdown week 1. Defensively for William and Mary they have sophomore linebacker John Pius who had 9 tackles and 4.5 TFLs against Charlotte.

University of Tennessee-Chattanooga at Eastern Illinois University

I think that this will be a close matchup between the Mocs and Panthers. Eastern Illinois’s offense has senior wide receiver Justin Thomas who had 83 receiving yards and 1 touchdown against Northern Illinois. Defensively for Chattanooga they have senior linebacker Ty Boeck who had 7 tackles and 1 fumble recovery against Wofford. The Mocs offense has junior running back Ailym Ford who had 162 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns in week 1. Defensively for Eastern Illinois they have sophomore linebacker Elijawah Tolbert who had 11 tackles and 1.5 TFLs against Northern Illinois.
