Report: NFL is close to reaching a settlement with Browns QB Deshaun Watson

There have been rumors flying this past week about the status of Browns recently acquired quarterback Deshaun Watson, and we wanted to clear the air a bit. According to several reports, the trade with Deshaun Watson could be reversed, but that is not true. — Could Deshaun Watson’s suspension be handed down today? There is a growing possibility the settlement is very close to be agreed on.

The NFL and Deshaun Watson saga could be coming to an end. According to Dan Graziano of ESPN, the NFL and Watson’s reps could have a settlement in place today or tomorrow.

Sources close to the Deshaun Watson situation believe a resolution could come today or tomorrow. Recent talks between NFL and Watson's reps have heightened hope that they can reach a settlement without Peter C. Harvey having to rule, but it's unclear how much longer he will wait.

This was supposed to be a quick resolution, but it has been taking some time. I would not be shocked if the suspension is longer than 10 games. The NFL is willing to budge, but they also want to make it look like they are in the driver’s seat.

They have to be the bad guy, because this is a bad look for the league.
