Incoming Trinity College Freshman football player Avery Gilbert collapsed and died
Avery Gilbert was an incoming freshman at Trinity College was hoping to be one step closer to playing professionally. Unfortunately, Gilbert was found collapsed and not breathing.
A fellow teammate found Avery Gilbert collapsed and not breathing in a dorm entryway. He died at the hospital.
School officials said Gilbert had an apparent pre-existing medical condition that was triggered by an allergen.
First Responders administered life-saving measures before transporting him to an area hospital.
He was pronounced dead at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The cause of death has not officially been determined.
