Deshaun Watson Suspension looming? His attorney hints that his client is likely to be suspended by the NFL

I am wondering if the Cleveland Browns are starting to question whether or not the Deshaun Watson signing was the best move. With a suspension looming it could be a major problem for Cleveland. Well, in an interview with the USA Today, Deshaun Watson’s attorney Rusty Hardin told him that the league has interviewed his client a total of four days.

The NFL is investigating the sexual allegations that continue to pop up. In the last week 2 more cases were filed after the HBO special on Watson.

Hardin said the NFL engaged in “a hell of a detailed investigation”, on the Browns QB but seemed to hint that there was a good chance its findings would not favor the quarterback.

“I don’t want to extoll on how detailed their investigation has been in case when they make their mind up that we seriously object — which I think there may be a very good possibility of that — but we just don’t know,” Hardin said.

Watson guided the Texans to consecutive division titles in 2018 and 2019 and led the league in passing yards in 2020. He also received Pro Bowl honors in each of his three seasons as Houston’s primary starter. He has the highest career completion percentage of all time (minimum 1,500 attempts), and is second in all-time career passer rating. Disagreements with the Texans’ front office and multiple sexual misconduct lawsuits kept Watson out for the entire 2021 season and eventually led to a trade to the Browns. Could you imagine if he missed two years in a row?

How long should Deshaun Watson’s suspension be?

How long could Watson end up being suspended? Should he be out the entire year? Either way he signed a fully guaranteed contract. I think the Browns quarterback should in fact sit out the entire year again. I know it is crazy, but it is very hard to have 24 people come up with similar stories. Watson was obviously involved in some of this, and while it sounds like some of these stories are fabricated they are still very serious allegations.

If he is suspended the entire year, the Browns would have to turn back to Baker Mayfield. That would be interesting, wouldn’t it?
