Everyone feels Baker Mayfield could be a Seattle Seahawks now that Carolina Panthers drafted Matt Corral. Well, now the only other team linked to Baker Mayfield is out.

According to ESPN’s, Brady Henderson, the Seahwaks are not looking to trade for a quarterback.

“We’re always competing,” Carroll said, giving one of his stock responses to such questions. “I’m not saying anything you didn’t think I was going to say, but fortunately that’s always been the way we’ve operated, and it fits again. So we’re looking. I don’t see us making a trade for anybody at all. I don’t see that happening. But we’re certainly going to continue to be open to chances to help our club, and meanwhile we’re just going to be battling and competing our tails off. There’s always possibilities, so we keep open to that.”

Baker thought he could be dealt to the Seahawks but now there are no options available for him.

Mayfield is set to make a guaranteed $19 million this season, and if he was smart he would just hold out. The Browns will eventually cut him or keep him on the bench and pay him all year to be a back-up. They could do the Deshaun Watson situation and pay him while he just waits.

If this happens the minute Baker is released I would expect a team to sign him. The Seahawks make a lot of sense if he is cut. Right now they have Drew Lock and Geno Smith. Baker is better than both of them.
