What is your favorite pass play and why?

I like any type of pass play where the read progression is based off of the coverage the defense is giving us. For example, having a cover 2 or cover 4 beater backside with a cover 1 or cover 3 beater front side. I like having answers for any coverage the defense could throw at us.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

As cheesy as it may sound, my favorite moments from football come from hanging out with and just being around my teammates. Whether it’s in meetings, the locker room, the weight room, or after games, I’ll always be thankful for all of those times.

What sets you apart from other quarterbacks?

I believe I have great vision and accuracy on the field. I see spacing and have the ability to put the ball exactly where I want to very well. This is definitely a result of the amount of film I watch in my free time.

What are you looking forward to this upcoming season?

We’ve put in a lot of work and will continue to put in a lot of work this offseason as a team. I’m extremely excited for us to be able to put everything that we have been working for on display.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

Tony Romo is a guy I’ve recently became super interested in. I see a lot of similarities between the two of us as players and people. I’d really like to just talk to him about football in general because he is such a knowledgeable guy on the sport as well as his experience and transition from college to the NFL.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

I without a doubt turn to my faith. Regardless of what that challenge is or where it occurs, I know my identity is found in Jesus Christ and nothing can impact that.

What should we know about Cooper Callis the person?

As a person, you can bank on the fact that I will do everything to the absolute best of my ability regardless of what it is.

What type of energy do you bring onto the football field?

I’m very even keel on the football field. I’m a super competitive person, but I don’t let my emotions get too high or too low throughout the game. I’m extremely locked in at all times.

What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

I played every sport growing up and really liked playing all of them. Football had a bit of an advantage over the rest of the other sports because my dad, who played football in college and arena, was and still is such a great influence to me.

What would a team get in a player like you?

I am an extremely accountable, consistent, and dedicated player. I will be that same player day in and day out regardless of any circumstances.

How do you prepare for games?

I watch a ton of film throughout the week. Watching film comes easily to me. It never feels like a chore. I learned quickly in high school that my confidence correlates directly with the amount of film I watch. I also love going up and watching film with my coaches just to see and hear different perspectives on the film.

What do you think are the keys to success on the football field?

I believe how much you prepare off the field in the weight room, in the playbook, and through film translates directly to success on the football field.
