Background: A multi-game starter under HC Danny Gonzalez & former HC Bob Davie from 2018 – 2021 after transferring in from Trinity Valley Junior College. He played at Trinity Valley Junior College from 2016 – 2017.

Positives: Position versatility, Foot speed, Body positioning in zone coverage, Ball skills, Pursuit angles, Physicality, Form Tackler.

Negatives: Body frame, Pad level while backpedaling, Choppy feet, Play reaction in zone coverage, Block Shedding, Inconsistent tackler, Non-effective Blitzer, Not an every-down player, Production level.

Summary: Peek is slightly undersized for a prototypical strong safety with his HT & WT, but has a compact frame. He showed position versatility on film, as he was used as a SS & “Star” in a 3-3-5 defense. Shows good foot speed in his backpedal from the snap of the ball. Demonstrates good body positioning while in zone coverage. Has decent burst when breaking on the ball, will look to break up the pass rather than attempt an interception. Takes good pursuit angles in run defense, is willing to take on blockers. Brings down ball carriers with okay form & physicality. Tends to have a high pad level in his backpedal. Shows choppy feet when changing directions. Can be a bit undisciplined in zone coverage due to bad zone eyes & keeping his eyes in the backfield. Is vulnerable to react late to deep routes along the sideline. Is not an effective blitzer off the edge against the pass. Does not show much play strength to shed blocks against the run. Will slip off of ball carriers when form tackling at times. Seemed to be a rotational guy as he did not play every down during the 2^nd & 4^th quarters of the games viewed. Did not produce many INTs during his career. Peek is a defensive back that would best fit as a SS in a Quarter or 3-3-5 defense in a zone coverage scheme. With refinement, he can be developed into an emergency slot CB in a Nickel or Dime package in a zone coverage scheme.
