What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?

I think immediately obviously to make a 53 man roster and contribute on special teams and defense and long term I want to win a Super Bowl and just coming in as a player and leader I think I can in and provide value for steps for that goal.

If there was a billboard with 5 of your traits which 5 traits would be up there?

The fact I grew up with a strong faith and a strong foundation, a physical linebacker, a fast linebacker, playing with great effort, and smart.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

My number one favorite moment would be winning the American Athletic Conference Championship game I had 3 sacks and won defensive player of the game and fans rushed the field. Second would be a tie between beating Notre Dame and playing in the College Football Playoff.

What type of energy do you bring onto the football field?

I’m a pretty passionate guy and I like to bring the energy when I make a play and bring energy when my teammates make a play and celebrate with them and then go get back lined up next play.

What sets you apart from other linebackers?

I think it’s how physical I am and how I use my hands and how smart I am, we played alot of defenses at Cincy so I know alot of defenses but I know there’s stuff I don’t know too. I’ve never smoked or drank in my life and I was a 2 year starter and I was voted team captain as well. And I play fast because I play with great effort and I was on the play hard board at Cincy meaning that I go out there and play hard every play. I look forward to being able to learn from NFL coaches and be a sponge and soak everything up.

What is your typical training routine?

I normally get in to workout in the morning do an hour of field work then transition that to a lift, go have a protein shake and go study teams and right now I am studying teams that have shown interest in me so I have a feel of what I am going to get into.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

Tom Brady, to meet and pick the brain of the greatest of all time that would be extremely valuable and I would love to do that.

What should we know about Joel Dublanko the person?

With me you are going to get a guy who is the same person everyday, come in with a great attitude, a man of faith, fast and physical linebacker and someone who studies the game and someone who was a leader and had the most tackles last year at Cincy and someone who is going come in and work hard everyday. And I was a team captain and I led our team to a college football playoff and I led our team to back to back American Athletic Conference champions.

What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

I think at a young age I just kinda gravitated toward it and as a kid I was doer more than a talker and now I’m a speak softly but carry a big stick kind of guy right now.

What do you think are the keys to success on the football field?

I think there’s alot that goes into that I think leading up preparation is huge and then on the the field playing with great effort, communication and doing your job.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

I think I just fall back on my support system and stick my nose into the foundation and my family has been a huge part of my life and I’ve had 6 years of ups and downs at Cincy and my family is what has brought me to this point.

What do you love about the game of football?

I think having that brotherhood and comradery on the team there’s nothing like it and just being out there on the football field and I love studying the and as a linebacker I love getting my hands on a lineman and throwing then off of me and making the tackle.
