Standout High School football player Andrew Vincent died in a car accident in Connecticut

Plainfield High School standout football player Andrew Vincent died after a serious car accident in Connecticut. He was just 17-years-old.

Officials identified the driver as Andrew William Vincent from Plainfield. Vincent was driving and another football player was in the passenger seat and was rushed to the hospital.

Liam Patrick Smith was a passenger in the Audi Vincent was driving, he was airlifted with serious injuries as well.

Plainfield High released this statement:

“The Plainfield community is deeply saddened to learn of the loss of one of our Plainfield High School students who tragically passed on last night. Our entire Plainfield community expresses their heartfelt condolences to the family. Plainfield schools has cancelled all athletic events scheduled for this weekend. We will be opening our High School during the holiday break. Our school support staff and grief counselors will be available on Monday morning, and throughout the week to provide support for students and families as we come to terms with this most tragic event.”

The family is asking that donations be made to the Plainfield Athletic Booster Club at Plainfield High School.
