What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

  • Ultimately I thought I was a basketball player and then I was always fast because I lived in Mississippi so that’s why football was the way to go.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

  • I would hang out with Odell Beckham Jr because I love how he stays true to himself and how he gets past injuries. And he’s the best dressed in the NFL and I love fashion so we would get along.

What sets you apart from other running backs?

  • I think for me I’m smaller so at pro day I showed I can play slot, kick returner/punt returner and running back and not a lot of people can do that so I think that elevates and separates me.

If there was a billboard with 5 of your traits on it which 5 traits would be up there?

  • Work hard, I’m a great teammate, I’m a leader, I study the game of football and always wanting to learn more and I’m unselfish.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

  • My favorite moments would honestly be seeing my teammates do well and succeed and it brings me well to see that.

How are you planning to prepare for the draft?

  • I’m back home training in Lawrence, Kansas and getting ready for my local day with the Chiefs and preparing myself in areas I need to work on the most.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

  • I try to always remember that you are doing something for a purpose and being yourself and not letting challenges get you out of that.

What should we know about JD Woods the person?

  • Is a Stranger Things nerd, and I am a sneakerhead and I probably have over 120 plus shoes.

What type of energy do you bring onto the football field?

  • I think I lead by example I really don’t talk crap to people and whenever the ball is in my hands big plays can happen.

What would a team get in a player like you?

  • A team would get a guy who is coming in and working hard, go out there and make a play even on special teams if that’s what they need me to do.

What do you think are the keys to success on the football field?

  • Knowing your role, being in the playbook, staying out of trouble and doing what you need to do in the film room.

What do you love about the game of football?

  • I love winning, I’m a fierce competitor and I love winning.
