What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?

I’m looking to achieve an opportunity in the NFL. And to become one of the best nickel backs in the NFL.

How are you planning to prepare for the draft?

Right now I’m just training at Sports Performance Institute in Tulsa, Oklahoma and just taking care of body after coming off of the Tropical Bowl to perform at my pro day.

What sets you apart from other defensive backs?

I would definitely say my elite speed ,quickness, and my competitiveness.

What do you think are the keys to success on the football field?

Being prepared mentally and physically. When you’re prepared both ways, you give yourself the best chance to succeed.

If there was a billboard with 5 of your traits which 5 traits would be up there?

Speed, physical, football savvy, intelligent, and tackler.

What made you decide you wanted to be a football player?

I was a dual athlete my whole life. So I played basketball, football and ran track. Basketball and football I loved, but track was just something I was good at naturally. My sophomore year came and I realized I wasn’t going to be 6’8, so from my freshman year of HS on, I knew I was going to be a football player.

What are your favorite moments from your football life?

Some of my favorite moments, were playing against quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes, and Kyler Murray and guarding receivers like Ceedee Lamb, Hollywood Brown, James Washington, and Collin Johnson.Playing versus my hometown team Oklahoma University at there stadium when I was at Kansas was a favorite of mine as well.Lastly would be when I was at Utah State winning the Mountain West Championship and winning the LA Bowl! Some of the most fun of my life! Becoming a champion.

What should we know about Kyle Mayberry the person?

I think it should be known that I’m a great leader, competitor, I love football, and that I am the best nickel in this draft class.

How do you handle challenges both in life and on the football field?

I handle challenges in life and on the football field head on. The best way to deal with things in my opinion are head on.

What would a team get in a player like you?

They’re getting a versatile defensive back that’s played and can play every defensive back position. An elite coverer, a feisty competitor, and a tackler, with extremely high IQ.

If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

My three would be Cam Newton, Jason Verrett, and Odell Beckham.Cam because he just was my favorite player growing up, and all time. Jason Everett because he’s my favorite corner and someone’s game I idolized. Lastly Odell, because he’s Odell.

What type of energy do you bring onto the football field?

Vibrant and electric energy. I would say I can light up any room, and can have my teammates believing in themselves more than they may have before!
