Overcoming adversity is what defines character, what was the hardest moment in your life to overcome?

  • When I didn’t make an AAU basketball team in 6th grade, I lost all confidence in my athletic ability. Basketball was my favorite sport, but  I just wasn’t good at it. I told my father that I didn’t want to play basketball anymore and that I wanted to try a different sport. A couple of days later, we were driving down the road and saw a sign that said “Jackrabbit Track.” I had always been a little bit faster than kids that were my age, so it made the most sense to try it out. Fast forward 10 years later, and I was a Junior Olympic All-American, State Champion, and second in App State history in the 100-meter dash. This just taught me that adversity is preparation for greatness if you take adversity as a challenge.

If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be?

If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would it be and why?

  1. Martin Luther King: To ask him about how he stayed stable as a leader when what he was doing wasn’t technically “right” at the time. Also, to tell him how much he has changed the world for the better.
  2. Drake: Favorite Artist since I was in middle school.
  3. Lebron: Best basketball player of all time and gave back to his community in many ways
