Today Odell Beckham Jr. will be one day older as he turns 29 today, but he will also no longer be a Cleveland Brown. According to Mary Kay Cabot, the Browns are expected to release Beckham Jr. and get this he has been requesting a trade for quite some time.
According to a report from Mary Kay, Odell has requested multiple times to be traded.
A source told cleveland.com that Beckham asked to be traded multiple times, including in the offseason when he was coming off surgery to repair a torn ACL. He asked again after the Steelers game, which cleveland.com has reported multiple times, in which he caught one pass for 6 yards.
The Browns maybe did not take the request seriously, but now they have backed themselves into the corner. The trade deadline has passed and the Browns now own the rights and the ridiculous contract of Odell.
Beckham is expected to be released, but if he is released he will be subject to waivers. I mean at this point the Lions would have the first dibs at OBJ. Could you imagine going from the Browns to the Lions?
Well, at least he would be the number 1 receiver……
