17-year-old high school standout WR Elijah Gorham after landing hard trying to make a catch in the end zone
Elijah Gorham was a standout football player in the DMV area. In a football game against Dunbar High School Gorham went up to grab a touchdown pass when he landed hard in the endzone.
After staying down for about 45 minutes he was taken to the hospital via the ambulance. The coaches did not disclose the nature of his injury but did say he had surgery to fix the problem and it was successful.
Gorham spent his freshman year at Reginald Lewis High School and played on Mervo’s junior varsity team as a sophomore in 2019.
Mervo is scheduled to play at City College on Thursday afternoon. The school has not announced if the game will be postponed.
Please keep the family, friends and teammates of Elijah in your prayers during this tough time.
We wanted to take a second to highlight the speedy wide out on our site. Rest in Peace EG!
