2022 NFL Draft Prospect: Cordell Volson, OL, North Dakota State University | Hula Bowl Spotlight
Cordell Volson is the brother of former NDSU Bison Tanner Volson the former New York Giant. The Volson boys are big kids with a mean streak. Volson has quick feet and can redirect traffic easily. He has had to face some stellar edge rushers in Elerson Smith (Drafted by Giants) and Romeo McKnight (Signed by the Browns as UDFA). Volson is tough as nails and plays through the whistle, and that is what NFL teams love.
Cordell was a five year starter in high school and a two-time captain. The kid was a beast who was athletic as hell. Get this he was the teams punter and kicker at one time, he also lined up at tight end, offensive and defensive line and played a little linebacker and fullback. He was a jack of all trades in his high school career for Drake High School in North Dakota.
Volson’s ability to dominate in high school attracted North Dakota State and the rest is history. The general agriculture major redshirted his first year with the Bison. In his second full season though he would end up appearing in 9 games.
In 2018, as a redshirt sophomore he was still a back-up lineman for the Bison, but played in all 15 games on special teams.
Last season, Volson dominated. He was a first team All-Missouri Valley Conference player. He started all 10 games at both right tackle and guard. He has also played left tackle, but is a premier right tackle.
Volson is in his final year, and he continues to dominate. Volson is huge standing at 6’7 and weighs around 315 pounds. He has been a first team All-Conference player for years. His veteran leadership is huge!

Last year the NDSU Bison had Dillon Radunz drafted, but teams were able to get a close look at right tackle Tanner Volson. While Radunz received a lot of the attention Volson is equally capable having earned All-Conference and All-American honors. Volson is a solid OL prospect with few weaknesses to his game. The 6070, 315 pound offensive tackle is one of the best graded offensive lineman in the entire country. The guy is a force on the Bison O-Line. – Damond Talbot, Director of Scouting, Hula Bowl
