Talk about your experience as a student. What is your major/minor? Did you participate in any other activities or campus organizations other than football?
I graduated just this past Spring with a degree in Sports Management. While I was at Middle Tennessee, I volunteered at the Boys and Girls Club. Here at Chattanooga, I had an internship downtown at the YMCA where I participated in the leadership program.

What do your teammates say is your best quality?
I am one of the key playmakers and one of the leaders on our team.

What kind of role do you see yourself in on the team? What scheme and/or position suits your skill set?
People see me as a possession type wide receiver, but I am also a deep threat. I’m very familiar with playing in the spread scheme and often with empty formations with no running back. I played on the inside at Middle Tennessee, and I’m frequently the outside receiver in our system. I can play the “X” and “Y”.

Which one of your teammates impresses you the most?
We have a great group of guys in our secondary that I get to practice with every day. Brandon Dowdell, Jordan Jones, Jarrell Lawson and CaMiron Smith. CaMiron is a young stud that has been getting better since I’ve been with the Mocs. Brandon is actually my cousin. He makes great plays on defense and special teams as a returner. Jordan and Jarrell complete the secondary as great playmakers.

Describe a time in your life when you were able to overcome a struggle.
In high school, I almost ended up going to JUCO. My grades became a huge factor. I went to like 4 to 5 different high schools, and I was seemingly the new guy on the block each year. I always had to prove myself. I finally had a chance to play my senior year. With a sufficient SAT score, I had 4 to 5 different offers on the table.

I landed in Middle Tennessee State by following Richie James who was a good friend of mine in high school. He was a star there and now plays for the 49ers. I wasn’t as fortunate as him though. I didn’t seem to click well with the offensive coordinator and wasn’t getting a lot of playing time.. Some of the coaching staff moved to Chattanooga and I shortly followed. The staff here has been very welcoming and always excited to use me in their offense. I’ve had a great time making plays in this program.

If you didn’t play football, what other sport would you play?
Basketball. I played a little basketball as a freshman. Although, I was mainly focused on football.

What is something that you are most proud of? What would you say is your biggest achievement?
My biggest achievement was graduating this past spring. I’m most proud of getting my name on the radar of NFL scouts.

Describe one of the most memorable plays of your collegiate career.
During the 2021 Spring Season, I had a couple one-handed catches. I made one during our game against Furman. It was the first drive of the game. I ran a “go” route on 3rd down. The ball was too far out to reach with both hands. So, I grabbed it in my right hand. That play really set the tone for the game. I got us in the red zone setting us up for the score.

Do you have a favorite athlete or professional team? Is there a player that you model your game after?
My favorite team is the Minnesota Vikings. Julio Jones is my favorite athlete. I try to model my game after him and O’Dell Beckham.

Who is your favorite music artist? What gets you pumped before a game?
Kodak Black is my favorite music artist. I often listen to Gospel before games like Marvin Sapp.

What is your favorite comfort food?
Shrimp Tacos

Do you have a favorite movie, TV show or actor?
My favorite movie is Next Friday. Mike Epps is my favorite actor. One of the TV shows that I like is Martin,

What do you do in your spare time? Do you have any hobbies? Any secret talents?
I love bass fishing. I’ll also play video games like Madden, 2K and GTA.

Why do you play football? Who or what motivates you the most?
I play because it’s something that I love to do. I also feel like God has put football in my life for a reason. He put obstacles in front of me to see how I would respond, and I’ve done well. I also play football because I know my family depends on me. My mom motivates me the most. She does so much and likes to watch me play. I keep working hard because of her.
