Former FAU football player Cortez Ash arrested in Florida with 132 pounds of weed, multiple guns including an AK-47, and cash

Cortez Ash the former Florida Atlantic University defensive back may not have made big-time plays on the field, but he was making some big moves off the field. The 29-year-old former FAU football player who was busted in Port St. Lucie, Florida is one of the biggest drug busts in the area’s history.

Ash is facing multiple drug and weapon charges after police found 132.2 pounds of marijuana, multiple guns, including an AK-47, and more than $25,000 in cash while serving warrants.

The police report says the investigators also found 612 pieces of cannabis edibles packaged to resemble “Nerds Rope.”

This is not his first run in with the law. I mean in 2011 he was arrested in Indian River County after allegedly stealing 400 pounds of copper wire from a scrap yard before trying to sell it to the same scrap yard.

We are not talking about one of the brightest people here, but jeez that is a lot of weed.

His girlfriend was also arrested according to the report.
