Four Blockbuster Trades that could happen after the Julio Jones trade to the Titans
It is after June 1st, and there are a lot of players that could be moved. The list goes on and on, but there are many players we feel could be dealt before the start of the season. I wanted to do a little prediction of four trades that could possibly happen before the start of the season. I know they are guesses but it would be fun to try to speculate a monster trade.
Aaron Rodgers to the Broncos – Yes, I know it sounds crazy, but John Elway did not draft a quarterback for a reason. He knows he can get by with a Drew Lock but if he could add an Aaron Rodgers it would immediately put him in the playoffs. The Broncos are not many players away. They also have the second most cap of any team. They will need to have some extended cap space to fit Rodgers on their contract, but the team could trade a few players like Lock to the Packers in exchange for Rodgers and his hefty contract. I think the Packers would want to get at least 2 first round picks, and I would not be shocked if the Broncos would be willing to even go up to three first round picks for him.
Danielle Hunter to the Jaguars – The Jaguars have two young and solid pass rushers but they could learn from a veteran like Hunter. The Jaguars made a deep run when their front seven was nasty. They have Josh Allen but if you can add a player like Hunter on the other side the Jaguars could be special. The Jaguars have money and they can make a splash. The Vikings do not have to get rid of him, but they are offered solid compensation and the Jaguars want to get back to when DUVAL was dominating quarterbacks.
Zach Ertz to the Bills – The Buffalo Bills added several million in cap space the other day when they restructured the contract of Stefon Diggs. Zach Ertz could be the missing piece of the Bills championship run. The Bills went heavy on the lines in the draft, and they still have not really addressed the tight end position. Zach Ertz is a great pass catching tight end that would be a huge for the Bills. It would give Josh Allen another weapon to compete with Dawson Knox and now the Bills could afford him.
Jaylon Smith to the Chargers – The Dallas Cowboys went out and drafted two linebackers. The team did not pick up the fifth year option on Leighton Vander Esch. Smith inked a big contract back in 2019 and the Chargers could pay for it. The Chargers need a linebacker and I think this would be a great fit. The front seven would be nasty for the Chargers, and he could come in right away and help the team compete in the competitive AFC West.
