University of Alberta defensive end Donovan Burgmaier recently sat down with NFL Draft Diamonds owner Damond Talbot.

What makes you a top prospect at your position in the 2022 NFL Draft?

My size and length combined with my athletic ability make me very versatile. 

At what age were you first interested in the sport of football?

I think 10 Years Old. 

What is one thing that NFL teams should know about you?

That I love to get involved within the community whether that’s through volunteer work or team activities. 

If you could donate to one cause in the world, what would it be?

Mental health

What is the best advice you have ever received?

To always treat people with respect 

Who was your childhood hero?

My father

Who is the most underrated teammate in your locker room at your school?

I think my most underrated teammate is LB Jassen Brown. Although I do not think he is, many teams and scouts may underestimate him because of his height but he has an incredibly high football IQ and work ethic which makes him a phenomenal football player. 

What is your biggest pet peeve?

Bad Drivers. 

Tell me something about your school and why it is so special to you?

UofA has a great community, everyone is very open and friendly, as everyone can and wants to make a difference inside and out of the community. 

What is your favorite snack food?

If we are talking cheat day, Five Guys Burgers and Fries. 

What is the best part of football?

The brotherhood and comradery created between your teammates because that lasts a life time. 

If you could sell yourself in one sentence what would you say?

I am dedicated, loyal, committed, and confident that I will outwork anyone. 

If you could compare your play to one player in the NFL who would it be?

Maxx Crosby 

If you could have dinner with three people dead or alive, who would it be and why?

Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mike Tyson, Will Ferrell – because I can only imagine the stories these guys have
