Fan Controlled Football League was fun to watch and gave tons of players a platform

Christian Saulsberry had a nice touchdown reception for he Beasts of the FCF. He caught a pass from T.J. Edwards in the 2nd.

Last night, I was sitting around and wanted to watch some sports. I logged onto Twitter to find that the Fan Controlled Football League was on via Twitch.

Everyone was clicking on to watch Johnny Manziel but he was not the real MVP. Guys like T.J. Edwards, David Pindell, and Logan Marchi were the guys that shined.

I clicked on the link and I could not stop watching. Tons of players that were featured on NFL Draft Diamonds over the year were getting exposure. Guys like QB T.J. Edwards were tearing it up on the FCF. Edwards is a very athletic quarterback that was showing out last night for his football team.

Edwards rushed for 90 plus yards and did a great job at leading his team down the field.

Others like Ladarius Galloway the former Tennessee-Martin running back was getting quite a bit of exposure. Another couple guys who had a great game were Donte Rumph the former Kentucky defensive lineman who has been featured on our site several times. Another player was Christian Saulsberry who caught a great touchdown.

There were several things I took away from the game that I loved. I loved the set up. The fans get to call the plays, and let’s face it they like to throw the ball. It seemed like every play was a pass play.

When pressure broke down in the backfield, the QB’s had to be athletic to get down the field. This game is fast, and there are some big time athletes.

It reminded me a lot of Arena Football League when it started, because it was something different, but the coolest thing I took away from the game was the extra point. The FCF put some time into this one.

The quarterback gets a couple seconds to throw to one wide out. They are covered by a defensive back. It is a one v. one and the QB has to hit his WR for the point. I love it. It shows you coverage skills from the DB and also the route running ability of the wide outs.

This league will be around for a while. It was fun to watch and I love that my small schoolers are getting some love. Let’s Go!!!
