Draft Diamonds Free Agent Interview: Jordan Burdue, Linebacker

Free Agent linebacker Jordan Burdue recently took time out of training to prepare for another opportunity to sit down with Justin Berendzen of NFL Draft Diamonds

Hello, I am @jrberendzen on Twitter and this is one of my free agent interviews where I ask very deserving free agents questions about the players themselves and about what a team would get in these players. All of these players should get picked up by NFL, CFL, and XFL teams and get a shot at being a career football player. So I hope you all read this interview and follow Jordan’s journey on Twitter @jburdue9

1.What are your favorite moments of your football life?

The top three moments of my football career in order is working out for the Vikings in 2017. Winning back to back championships in Germany in 2017 and 2018 to advance to the GFL and playing in an All-American game in 2016 at AT&T Stadium.

2.If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day who and why?

I would probably have to hang out with Brett Favre. I think he’s one of the best just true football players we’ve ever seen. Just a true Ironman who showed up every day to WORK! Something I pride myself on.

3.What is your favorite workout?

My favorite workouts are full-body assault days. The game of football takes such a toll on the body and mind that I really enjoy putting that pressure and stress on myself in the gym so on game days, the works really already been done.

4.Rank focus, footwork and skill based on what is most important to you as a football player and explain why?

If I had to rank focus, footwork, and skill-based on the importance to me as a football player I would put them in that exact order. If your focused your footwork will be on game day where it’s been prepared through training then you can just allow your skill to take over.

5.What do you think is the biggest key to being successful on the football field?

I think the biggest key to being successful on the football field is the will to prepare throughout the offseason than week to week during the season. The correct preparation allows you to put yourself in the best situations drive after drive.

6.What has been your biggest challenge in life?

My biggest challenge in life really has just been trying to climb the ranks coming from a small HS then a small college then climbing through the arena ranks.

7.What made you decide that you wanted to be a football player?

Growing up in a small football-crazed town in Ohio is what made me want to be a football player. It’s a way of life.

8.What is your mindset when you are on the football field?

My mindset on the football field is “Turn it Loose” I know the way I prepare and I know what I bring to each team I’m on. It’s time to turn it loose, make plays, and get the win. It’s showtime!!

9.What would a team get in a player like you?

I bring extremely intense leadership to any team that I’ve played for. I know that my teammates consider me to be a tremendous teammate and a guy whose gonna give it everything he’s got for the betterment of the team 8 days a week man. Just a grinder whose a winner.

10.What is your favorite stadium that you have played in?

My favorite stadium that I’ve ever played in is US Bank Stadium.

11.What do you hope to achieve as a football player going forward?

What I’m looking to achieve moving forward with my football career is really just to stay ready for the opportunity to play at a high level whenever that opportunity presents itself.

12.What type of energy do you bring onto the football field?

I think that it’s a lock that any past teammate that I’ve had will tell anyone that the energy I bring to a football field is second to none. It’s not a loud out of control just talking energy but a laser focus lead vocally and by example for all 4+ quarters of every football game!
