Syracuse freshman defensive back Cornelius Nunn was arrested on gun charges in Miami

Syracuse defensive back Cornelius Nunn was arrested and charged with felony gun possession, after a routine traffic stop.

Cornelius Nunn a 19 year old defensive back for Syracuse was arrested and charged with a felony for carrying a concealed firearm.

Nunn was arrested in Miami, Florida. The police report says that Nunn was a passenger in a car that was parked improperly.

When police approached the Nissan Maxima to initiate a traffic stop for the parking violation, Nunn exited the car and ran into a residential duplex but was stopped and detained.

They found a black Smith and Wesson revolver in the driver’s side of the vehicle on the passenger side. Nunn said the weapon was not his, but the report says he was handling the weapon before police arrived.

Nunn does not have a concealed carry permit for the weapon.

Nunn did not play much last year because he suffered a torn ACL and was recovering from the injury.
