Former Jacksonville Jaguars defensive tackle Louis Nix III was shot this weekend when he was putting air in his tires at a Gate gas station near the Jacksonville Airport.

Nix was transported to the UF Health Hospital and was in serious condiditon. Nix posted a video to his Instagram while in the ambulance, telling his family he loved them, in case he didn’t make it.

He is recovering well, according to the News4Jax reporter Vic Micolucci.

The wild thing is two young men are being sought out for the crime. The two kids are reportedly around 16 to 20 years old.

Nix told the officers the kids came up to him flashed a light in his face and said give me, and at that time Nix pushed the kid and was shot.

Nix played for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He was selected by the Houston Texans in the 2014 NFL Draft. He also played for the Jaguars, Redskins and Giants.
