If you’re still reading this chances are you made the playoffs or you are simply looking to be the Grinch who stole the players. Either way, let’s keep it short this week because there is no time for bulljunk, as Deion Sanders would say, in the playoffs.

Week 14 Waiver Wire Report

  • KeKe Coutee/ WR/ Houston Texans: Will Who? Okay, maybe that is a little much after one game but he had the most targets on the team with 9 and it resulted in 8 receptions for 141 yards. However, he is unlikely to surpass Brandin Cooks as the WR1 in the Texans’ explosive offense. Next 3: @ Bears, @ Colts and Bengals
  • Adrian Peterson/ RB/ Detroit Lions: 15 carries for 55 yards and 2 TDs on Thanksgiving and against Chicago Peterson had 16 carries for 57 yards and 2 TDs. Say what you want but Peterson has carved out enough of a role to be a weekly FLEX consideration even when D’Andre Swift returns. Next 3: Packers, @ Titans and Buccaneers
  • Ty Johnson/ RB/ NY Jets: 22 carries for 104 yards and 1 TD with Frank Gore getting hurt in this game. We might have found out playoff savior at RB. Johnson performed CPR on the lifeless Jets offense looking like a capable NFL back and making the most of his opportunity. If Gore does miss time with injury expect Johnson to get a workload like this moving forward, but if Gore returns this week then Johnson will be in a time-share approach. Next 3: @ Seahawks, @ Rams and Browns
  • Gabriel Davis/ WR/ Buffalo Bills: In 2 games without John Brown Davis has recorded 147 yards and 2 TDs. Even as the 3rd option in this offense he has the opportunity to make splash plays. He’s a WR4 with big-play upside. Next 3: Steelers, @ Broncos and @ Patriots
  • Ito Smith/ RB/ Atlanta Falcons: Smith matched Todd Gurley with 8 carries last week but came away with the team lead in snaps at 24 and rushing yards with 38. His schedule isn’t awful over the next few weeks but it’s a crowded backfield currently with Brian Hill not totally out of the picture either. Proceed with caution but his arrow is trending up. Next 3: @ Chargers, Buccaneers and @ Chiefs
  • Tim Patrick/ WR/ Denver Broncos: The 2 TDs are always a day-saver. Patrick also contributed 4 catches for 44 yards. Even though this offense is hard to watch at times he has hit 100+ yards 3 times this season. Over his last 8 games, Patrick is averaging 69 yards per game and has 5 TDs. He’s a big play waiting to happen. Next 3: @ Panthers, Bills and @ Chargers
  • Jalen Hurts/ QB/ Philadelphia Eagles: Is it his time? Nobody knows but how he played against Green Bay in relief of Carson Wentz leaves some room for optimism. Hurts outperformed Wentz, finishing 5-of-12 for 109 yards with a touchdown and an interception while rushing five times for 29 yards. Wentz ended 6-of-15 for 79 yards and was sacked four times. Next 3: Saints, @ Cardinals and @ Cowboys
