Three offseason trades the Philadelphia Eagles, front office should consider

Eagles Trades Eagles Moves
The Eagles need to do something and quick. Just three years ago they won the Super Bowl. Now they are choking. Jon-Michael Salter breaks down some moves he would like to see.

Ok, let’s face it, the Philadelphia Eagles, like the rest of the NFC East, are a bad team. Issue after issue arises, as weeks pass on, in the city of brotherly love. Be it Quarterback Carson Wentz, struggling with everything. Head Coach Doug Pederson, struggling with……. Everything! The injuries across the offensive line. Or the injuries in general. Blame what you want, it doesn’t matter at this point, the truth is the team is bad. Which leads me to this. Three trades the Philadelphia Eagles should consider. That could help this team in one way or the other.

Now, where do I start?

1) Clean house: TE Zach Ertz, DT Fletcher Cox

I wanted to add more names to this list, but I honestly think, Ertz and Cox, are the only players that would get the birds capital (Outside of Wentz). They are not trading the franchise QB, off of one bad year. Now, hear me out. I love both Ertz and Cox, but the Eagles, are in a true rebuild. They need to get younger and add picks. This would be a quick way of adding those picks. Possibly adding a young talent as well. I want to make it clear, the Eagles need a new General Manager, but somehow keep Howie Roseman, around to do contracts. Someone who could come in and make great moves with these picks. Sending these two out the door would hurt, but they need to make a business decision here. Not hold on to guys out of loyalty. That has gotten them in trouble over the past few years.

2) LB Deion Jones, Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons, need to make some real changes. While they do have stars all over the team, they need to get younger and start from scratch. Including moving on from rising star Deion Jones. Now, I know what you are thinking, why would the Falcons, move on from a guy like Jones? Well, the Eagles need to make them an offer they can’t refuse. Including a star Tight-End, like Ertz, to help either Matt Ryan or a new rookie they bring in. Adding Jones would give the Eagles, a playmaker on the second level of the defense. They have needed a stud, since letting a certain someone (won’t say it) leave in free agency, to the Cardinals. Having a guy like Jones would allow the defense to do a lot more against offenses. The birds are lacking in that department.

3) WR Mecole Hardman, Kansas City Chiefs

Let me preference this by saying, I feel Doug Pederson, maybe on his last leg in Philly. I also believe that Offensive Coordinator, Eric Bienemy, could be the perfect fit for this rebuild. But let’s pretend that I didn’t say that. No matter who the coach is, the Eagles, should draft the Offensive line and defense (everywhere), as well as trade for a young talented WR. That is where Hardman, comes in. Adding a talented young guy like him would give the Birds, another real threat. I believe in Jalen Reagor, and think he could be a star. But adding talent around him is the obvious move. While helping your franchise QB. Hardman can do it all. He is a burner, as well as a guy who can play in the dirt. The birds need talent all over, and giving Wentz, a rising star, as well as protect him. Should be at the top of the list.
