2019 Statistics: 40 Receptions, 894 Yards and 15 Touchdowns
Zach Davidson is an explosive athlete with great potential. He is deceptively fast using his long legs as an advantage by taking long strides outrunning defenders.
Along with his gifted body frame, he can cause a mismatch issue with about anyone being at 6’7 and with a huge catch radius. What I like about Zach is he is a very athletic tight end who uses his hands when catching the ball and can line up with his hand in the ground or split out wide in the slot.
When the ball is in his hands you see the receiver playmaker ability come out of him because he shows promise to make massive plays and can find the end zone. His vision with the ball is another thing that makes him unique. His route running is solid and he uses that as an advantage to create separation.
His blocking is what I think needs the most improvement out of his game, he’s a big body so he knows how to put himself in the way of a defender but I feel with some muscle mass on him it could benefit his blocking.
A team I could see potentially use him efficiently would be the Cincinnati Bengals as they found their star quarterback in Joe Burrow and it would help Burrow out with another weapon he could rely on.
Zach Davidson reminds me of David Njoku as they are incredible athletes with the potential of creating plays every time they touch the ball.
