2021 NFL Draft Prospect: Kenny Pickett, QB, University of Pittsburgh

Kenny Pickett Pittsburgh NFL Draft Breakdwon
Pitt QB Kenny Pickett is an intriguing player. He is not the sexiest quarterback in the 2021 NFL Draft, but he has many solid qualities.

Kenny Pickett the New Jersey native has a pretty touch pass. He maybe one of the best placement quarterbacks in the 2021 NFL Draft. Pickett stands at 6’2, and weighs 220 pounds for the University of Pittsburgh.

I have been watching quite a bit of film on Kenny Pickett and the Panthers this year because they have a ton of talent. This year we could see as many as 5 Pitt players drafted in the first 5 rounds.

Pickett is a guy that has caught NFL scouts attention. In 8 games this season, Pickett has thrown for 2,212 yards including 12 passing touchdowns. This past weekend was his worst game of the year, throwing four interceptions against a very solid Clemson football team.

Pickett is not afraid to run though either. This year he has 7 rushing touchdowns. Kenny has had a pretty solid career for Pittsburgh. He has played in 38 games as a signal caller.

In those 38 games, Kenny Pickett has thrown for 7,788 yards and has also had 38 touchdowns. He has a 61 percent passing percentage and averages 205 yards a game.

This year Pickett has already tied his rushing touchdown total over his career. He has fourteen career rushing touchdowns. He is a solid quarterback and is much like Nathan Peterman who was drafted by the Buffalo Bills.

NFL Draft Diamonds Scouting Notes

Kenny Pickett is not the sexiest quarterback pick in the NFL Draft. A matter of fact, many may not like his game, but he is a solid manager. He has thrown quite a bit of interceptions in his career (24), but has remained pretty consistent for Pitt. I think he is a mid to late round pick right now, and I would not be shocked if the Senior Bowl sent him an invite. – Damond Talbot, NFL Draft Diamonds Owner
