If the Jets receive the first pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, will they select Trevor Lawrence?

Sam Darnold
Jets QB Sam Darnold has been struggling but it is because he is not getting any help. His coach in incompetent and he has very little help around him. I mean Trevor Lawrence is considered the best quarterback of the decade.

I am trying to figure this out. I have been sitting here thinking all day about Sam Darnold and the New York Jets. Last week, my Buffalo Bills took on the Jets and beat them pretty bad. It was not as big of a blowout on the scoreboard because of turnovers and a missed tackle but the game if you watched it was not close. The Bills were never once in fear of losing the game.

But what I noticed is Sam Darnold does not have any help. There is absolutely no way the Jets are going to be able to win games this year without Le’Veon Bell and with the wide outs the Jets have. The Jets have a good defense against the run, but they could not stop the Bills passing attack.

As I sit here and think about the draft, I thought about who could end up with the first pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Let’s say the Jets do end up losing a bunch and landing the first pick in the NFL Draft. Do you give up on Sam Darnold to draft Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence?

I want to know your honest opinion, because I feel deep down inside that Sam Darnold can be a good quarterback in the NFL. I just feel the Jets and especially Adam Gase have failed him.

While on the other hand Trevor Lawrence’s resume continues to look better. Clemson’s junior QB threw for 351 yards in the Tigers’ blowout over Wake Forest and showed everyone why he may be the man to beat in the Heisman race. He threw for one TD and rushed for two more while throwing zero interceptions.

Lawrence is considered by many as the best quarterback to come out of college since Andrew Luck. He grades high, and has all the tools to be great, but he has a ton of weapons around him at Clemson as well.

I am not sure the Jets front office is capable of helping a quarterback like Trevor Lawrence. They have failed miserably with Sam Darnold. Darnold has no weapons. They spent tons of money on running back Le’Veon Bell and tons of money on linebacker C.J. Mosley. Both are out due to injury or opt-out. At this point, the Jets have proven to really fail Darnold.

The starting quarterbacks of the Jets right now are Chris Hogan and Jamison Crowder. The team placed Denzel Mims Jr. on the injured reserve yesterday, which hurts his chances of playing over the next few weeks at least.

Jets will have Frank Gore in the backfield this week with Bell out, and a bunch of average wide outs. The play calling for the Jets was ruthless last week. There were not many positives. So I want to know your answer.

Would you be willing to throw the towel in on Sam Darnold to let the young quarterback Trevor Lawrence take the reigns?
