What is going on football world? The NFL is doing everything to crack down on COVID-19 and they are fining coaches week in and week out. Well a new problem has popped up for the Raiders.
According to multiple reports, Darren Waller the Raiders tight end hosted an event on Monday Night with several players in attendance and none of them were wearing masks.
The charity even was held in Henderson, Nevada. Among the players in attendance were Derek Carr, Nathan Peterman, Tight ends Jason Witten, Foster Moreau and Derek Carrier. Others there were Zay Jones and CB Nevin Lawson.
According to the NFL and NFLPA’s rules they limit what the players are allowed to do outside of the facility. Players are banned from attending any event that violates local and state restrictions.
Among the restrictions, players are not allowed to attend indoor night clubs with crowds of 10 or more or attend any gathering or event that violates local and/or state restrictions. They also are required to wear face coverings while in public.
The players did not wear masks and their owner said he takes responsibility for the players actions.
“We obviously take responsbility for this.” – Mark Davis
So here is my question, will the NFL step in and make the players sit out for violating the policies? I mean they fined Jon Gruden for not wearing his mask this past game. The NFL is going to have to step in, and this could get ugly.
The Raiders are already banged up really bad so this will not help.
