After week 1 in the NFL, Clyde Edwards-Helaire is my OROY and Chase Young is my DROY
I know, it is just one week of football, but what if it all ends tomorrow? Wouldn’t you want to know who the Rookie of the Year is on offense?
Well, I watched quite a bit of games this week and to be honest with you, Clyde Edwards-Helaire might be in the MVP running after one week. The former LSU running back has impressed me and he also impressed his teammate.
Tyrann Mathieu is a big fan of the young rusher.
“I’m so impressed with the young man,” Mathieu said. “Obviously, I’m a huge LSU guy. I bleed purple and gold. I’ve seen him stick his foot in the ground like that many a time. I’ve seen him bounce off plenty of Alabama, Florida, Mississippi State guys. He’s a great guy for us. I think he’s going to continue to add to this offense and give us that spark that we need. I feel like he really showed up today and we played a balanced game all-around. I think he was a big part of that.”
Clyde Edwards-Helaire is my OROY after week 1
Edwards-Helaire carried the rock 25 times, rushing for 138 yards and a touchdown in his first game as a professional. He is a big time player and he is been super impressive. I am just mad I did not draft him in my fantasy football draft.
Chase Young is my DROY after week 1
When it comes to the Defensive side of the ball I am giving Chase Young the Washington Football Team’s pass rusher the defensive rookie of the year award.
Young finished the game yesterday with 1.5 sacks. He racked up a sack quickly against the Eagles piss poor offensive line. Young finished with four tackles, 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble. How do you think he thought he did? Well, he was hard as hell on himself after the game.
“I made a lot of mistakes out there and I can be better,” Chase said afterward. “That’s really where my head’s at right now.”
You have to love this kid. He is hungry. Right now, Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Chase Young are my Rookies of the Year on offensive and defense!
