Chase Young was a top five pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and he is proving to be worth every dollar. The former Ohio State pass rusher has 2.5 sacks right now and is tied for first place in the NFL for sacks.

Chase Young has played just two games in the NFL, but in that time he’s already become a name that opposing teams are focusing on prior to a matchup with Washington.

This week Young and Washington face Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns. The good thing for the Browns is this year they have only allowed one sack. Baker can escape, and he does a good job at throwing the ball away, but this week he may have to throw the ball away more than normal.

Mayfield said in an interview this week that Young has been proving why he was drafted so high already.

“Obviously, Chase Young, a high draft pick, but he is playing like it,” Mayfield said on Wednesday to the media. “He is proving why they chose him so high.”

The Washington defensive line is stacked, and they will be coming after Baker this week. I mean they do have guys like Daron Payne, Jonathan Allen, Matt Ioannidis, Montez Sweat and Ryan Kerrigan on their front seven as well. You cannot double team everyone.

I think Baker will have his hands full this week, but if Chase Young can continue his pace throughout the season, he would finish the season with 20 sacks. That would be 1.25 sacks per game. I would not be shocked if he hit that number, because he is a freakish pass rusher.

Do you think Chase Young can break the sack record? The record is only 22.5, held by Michael Strahan from the 2001 NFL season. If Chase can get that in his first year, that would be impressive.
