Browns QB Baker Mayfield has always had a stacked offense, when will he step up?

Baker Mayfield Browns
Baker Mayfield was a first overall pick, but he has not been very reliable since entering the NFL. We cannot say it is because the team did not give him weapons.

Baker Mayfield has only played in three games this year, so it is hard to judge him right now, but I have to bring something up, this guy is lucky. Imagine if Sam Darnold had the team that Baker Mayfield has had throughout his career.

Baker Mayfield had weapons, upon weapons in college. I mean let’s just take a look at Oklahoma, Baker played with Mark Andrews, Dede Westbrook, Joe Mixon, Marquise Brown, CeeDee Lamb, and Sterling Shepard. That is a stacked team and all are having success in the NFL right now. Mayfield has always been surrounded with talent.

Do not get me wrong, I am not blaming him for having talent because that is the team’s job to surround their franchise quarterback with talent, but shouldn’t he be doing better?

The Browns are 2-1 on the season right now, but Baker has not looked very good. They lost to the Ravens who are a very good team, but Baker has been averaging 188 passing yards a game. He has 5 touchdowns on the season and 2 interceptions. The crazy thing is his completion percentage for the year is 64.33 on the year.

The Browns are not bums on paper either. They are stacked just like Mayfield’s college team. The Browns have Odell Beckham Jr., Jarvis Landry, David Njoku, Austin Hooper, Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. I mean what is holding back Baker?

So far in Baker’s career he has a 61.5 completion percentage and has 37 career interceptions. Baker has only 54 touchdown passes. When you look at Baker’s career so far it has not been very good.

It makes me wonder if the Browns were to play Case Keenum would he do better? Case Keenum has always made the players around him better. Baker is not making the players around him better, he is actually making them less valuable.

So here is my question, when do you pull the plug on Baker?
