Delaware Valley University coach and former standout WR Shaveiz Stewart has passed away
We are so saddened to report that Shaveiz Stewart the former standout wide receiver from Delaware Valley has passed away. Shaveiz sadly passed away this week.
Shaveiz was known to be an amazing, brother, father, and teammate. Stewart greatly impacted his team and community, he was an inspiration to many he will be greatly missed by his teammate and family.
In 2018, Stewart was named first-team all-MAC punt returner, and set a single-season and career punt return touchdown record with three on the year.
Stewart returned 15 punts for 316 yards including a season-best five punts for 150 yards and a touchdown in season-finale at Widener. As a wide receiver, he caught 27 passes for 268 yards and three touchdowns his senior year. Had one catch in every game his final season.
Stewart went on to play in the Dream Bowl in Virginia, and eventually landed as an assistant coach back with his Alma Mater. Stewart will be missed. Another sad day in football.
Please keep the Stewart Family and the DelVal family in your prayers at this tough time.
