Delaware State becomes the first HBCU school to acquire a Non-HBCU school in Wesley College

Delaware State
Delaware State will acquire Division 3 Wesley College. This is a huge and historical move for DSU. Will their football programs merge? It will be interesting to see what happens.

Wesley College Wolverines football team has been pretty solid in the past. A matter of fact a few years ago Wesley College had a player named Matt Gono who is still in the NFL right now with the Atlanta Falcons.

Wesley College has been acquired by Delaware State the HBCU school down the road. Delaware State Hornets announced Thursday afternoon that it will acquire Wesley College, a private liberal arts college in Dover, Delaware.

This is pretty sweet, and makes Delaware State the first historically Black university to acquire an institution that is not a historically Black college or university, according to Inside Higher Ed.

We are not sure how the football programs will work because Wesley College is currently in the AEC (Atlantic East Conference) and competes in Division 3 football.

This is pretty sweet, but it will be interesting to see what happens with the players at Wesley College. This is something to monitor as everything moves forward.
