Dak Prescott’s MVP Odds have increased, can he end up making the Cowboys pay?

Dak Prescott
Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott deserves to get paid, and if the Cowboys do not pay soon he could force his way out.

The Dallas Cowboys have not paid Dak Prescott yet, and could you imagine if he ended up making them pay big time? I am not talking about forking over money, I am talking about winning the MVP of football this year and then refusing to sign a long term deal with America’s Team?

Dak Prescott is currently fourth in the NFL in MVP odds according to Unibet Sportbook NJ. He is fourth behind Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, and Russell Wilson.

The Odds on NJ.Unibet.com are pretty solid for Dak Prescott.

Recently Dak Prescott sent a statement to Jane Slater the reporter from the NFL Network where he stated “he’s grateful and blessed, to still be a Cowboy“, but not everyone feels that he is serious about those comments. I personally feel he is getting frustrated by the slow movement from the Cowboys organization.

If you remember after it was determined that Dak was not going to receive a new contract from the Cowboys, his brother Tad called out the team.

Dak's brother tweet
“There is a reason I was never a @dallascowboys fan growing up or before they drafted @dak after today, who knows how much longer I’ll be cheering for them.”

I think Tad has a great point. If Tad is willing to go to social media and talk about his brother’s employer, you have to think that Dak has expressed feelings to his brother about the contract. I mean you wouldn’t post that if you thought it would make your brother mad.

Tad is right though, I mean you have to remember Dak is in some pretty damn good company. Since 2016, Dak Prescott has the third-most wins of any starting quarterback in the NFL. The only two players with a better record are Tom Brady (47-13), and Russell Wilson (40-23-1). Dak has 40 wins and only 24 losses.

I think Dak is going to come out and show out. He is making good money being franchised, but he wants to be paid more. I mean I cannot blame him. The Dallas Cowboys added CeeDee Lamb to their wide receiving core, and I think that move is what is going to push the Cowboys over the top.

I love Ezekiel Elliott, and I love CeeDee Lamb added to Michael Gallup and Amari Cooper. I am telling you they added some big guys on the front line, added Aldon Smith which was a steal and I would not be surprised if the Cowboys dominate their division and the NFC this year.

Dak is going to play pissed. I think you have to ask yourself the question, Do the Cowboys question Dak’s skills? I mean, the guy has been pretty damn impressive for the Cowboys. So far in his career, he has 15,778 yards passing, 97 touchdowns and 36 interceptions. He has a career 65.8 passing percentage and you already read above he is a winner.

This year Dak Prescott will make less money than Carson Wentz, Kirk Cousins, Jared Goff, Aaron Rodgers, Ben Roethlisberger, Russell Wilson and Patrick Mahomes. I believe that Dak deserves to be paid as much as Russell Wilson. That is 35 million per year, and that is what many believe he was asking for. He is only 27 years old, which is younger than every quarterback listed above, except Jared Goff.

Back in February, the Cowboys offered Dak a lousy 33 million per year, which if you look at the Over the Cap it was a huge slap in the face. Especially when you consider Dak has more passing yards than Goff, Mahomes, and Carson Wentz.

It would be sweet to see Dak Prescott tear it up in 2020 then tell the Cowboys 40 million. It is not far off, the guy could get it. Patrick Mahomes just signed a contract extension for 10 years and 503 million dollars. If Dak leads the Cowboys deep in the playoffs and wins the MVP he is in the driver’s seat. Either the Cowboys comply or he walks. They will comply because they want to win!
