Do not be surprised if the Chiefs call Pro Bowl OG Larry Warford after Duvernay-Tardif opts-out

Larry Warford Bills
The Kansas City Chiefs need to make a strong push to sign OG Larry Warford

The Kansas City Chiefs are building a monster and they want to win it all. You cannot blame them. They have almost all their returning starters coming back. They ended the season with great chemistry and many of these teams will not be able to work on the chemistry with their teammates, especially with no pre-season games.

I would not be shocked if the Chiefs called up Larry Warford who is sitting at home. The Pro Bowl offensive lineman seems like a perfect replacement for Laurent Duvernay-Tardif who decided to opt-out of the 2020 season.

Laurent Duvernay-Tardif is a doctor and has been working in Canada during the coronavirus pandemic, and now he will become the first player to opt-out of his contract to continue to help patients.

While it is a heroic move, replacing him will not be easy. The Chiefs have an opportunity to land a Pro Bowl guard and can likely sign him to a one year deal. This would allow the Chiefs to get Duvernay-Tardif back and not miss a beat. It also allows Warford to become a free agent next season.

I think this would be huge for the Chiefs and can likely be done with their cap space. It will be interesting to see, but I am sure Warford would love to get a ring, or at least be playing for one.
