Tell us about your university/college. Did you participate in any other activities or campus organizations other than football?

I have not been a part of any campus organizations. My old roommates and myself tried to start an open mic club last year but we never followed through with it.

What do your teammates say is your best quality?

I would think that they would say my best quality is that I’m the same person all the time. I tune the intensity to the situation.

What kind of role do you see yourself in on the team? What scheme and/or position suits your skill set?

I would say I’m a leader. I’m not incredibly vocal but I lead by example.

I would say pro style. It has a nice balance of passes and runs that push players to adapt to what most of them did in high school. I love guard but I have played all 5 positions.

Who is the best player you have ever played against in college?

I would say my teammates Romeo McKnight and John Ridegway make me come to work everyday at practice.

Which one of your teammates impresses you the most?

Trenton Hatfield. He has been asked to play at least 5 different positions since he has been at Illinois State and is extremely talented at all of them.

Describe a time in your life when you were able to overcome a struggle.

Fortunately I have not had to face much adversity. Having back surgery and missing the rest of the season last year was tough but if that is the worst thing I ever have to face I have lived a really good life.

If you didn’t play football, what other sport would you play?

Ooo great question. I think I would’ve taken hockey more seriously if it weren’t for football. I also really enjoyed throwing discus so maybe I would have tried for that. My best was 159′ 2″ in high school.

What is something that you are most proud of? What would you say is your biggest achievement?

I once sang Friends In Low Places by Garth Brooks at Karaoke and 3 people clapped for me. Other than that, starting all games in the 2018 season and being a part of a really good team these past two years has been my biggest achievement to date.

Describe one of the most memorable plays of your collegiate career.

Ke’shawn Vaughn busying a 60+ yd. run on the first drive against UNC my redshirt freshman year.

Do you have a favorite athlete or professional team? Is there a player that you model your game after?

Taylor Lewan and Will Compton are the two greatest athletes I have ever seen. Quenton Nelson plays how every guard should try and play.

Who is your favorite music artist? What gets you pumped before a game?

Cody Johnson. Listening to anything by Tchami gets me pumped before a game.

What is your favorite comfort food?

Brats or my ma’s burgers

Do you have a favorite movie or actor?

Leonardo DiCaprio and Mathew McConaughey

What do you do in your spare time? Do you have any hobbies? Any secret talents?

I love playing guitar. I like fishing and watching YouTube a whole lot.

Who or what motivates you the most?

Not reaching my full potential scares me and motivates me the most.
