Florida High School standout LB DéVyon Collins shot and killed in Florida
DéVyon Collins was a beast on the Cocoa Beach High School football squad. Collins played linebacker and even lined up on Special Teams. Back in 2018, when Collins played for Merritt Island High School he was a standout running back and linebacker. Unfortunately, Collins was killed in a shooting.
Collins was a graduate this year and was hanging out in Merritt Island when a shootout began over gambling debt over a game of dice. Two were injured, while Collins was killed. Collins would be airlifted to the nearby medical center to be pronounced dead at the scene.
This happened around 6:55pm on Wednesday at an apartment complex.
No arrests have been made. Collins death was the 16th reported homicide to take place in Brevard County this year.
