There are some solid football players in the upcoming 2021 NFL Draft, but I have fallen in love with one prospect after watching videos of him workout. There is a tight end at the University of Pittsburgh named Lucas Krull that people are sleeping on. The former Florida Gators tight end is a beast to say the least. Let’s dig into this monster tight end prospect.
Lucas Krull is a 6070, 257 pound tight end that can bend and run great routes. After a solid high school career as a top wide receiver in the State of Kansas, Lucas would go to Jefferson College to play baseball. he pitched 11 games for their baseball team from 2017-18, but he really had the itch to play football again. So Krull began searching for an opportunity to play college football.
Dan Mullen of Florida fell in love with Krull and offered him a scholarship at the University of Florida. During his career at Florida, Krull tallied only nine receptions for 108 yards, throwing two passes on trick plays along the way and converting two first downs in the process.
Otherwise, Krull was primarily utilized as a blocker and on special teams. If you watched the kid work out, they were not using him correctly. I am sorry.
He must have felt that too because as a redshirt junior he transferred to the University of Pittsburgh to play his final year there. I expect Krull to return to his Mill Valley High School form where he was a standout pass catcher. He hauled in 52 receptions for 745 yards scoring 13 touchdowns as a senior. You cannot teach size, and Krull has that. You can not teach athleticism, and Krull has that, the only thing Krull is missing is opportunity. I think this year Pitt is going to show the world what Krull is made of. Remember his name folks, you will thank me later.
Draft Diamonds Scouting Notes:
No one is talking about Lucas Krull but that will change this year. The massive tight end from Kansas is a freak of an athlete. I have been watching videos of him train with Joseph Potts in Kansas. Potts was a former Kansas City Royals trainer, who recently worked with first round draft pick Isaiah Simmons. I think you will see Krull rise up boards in 2021, he is one of my biggest draft sleepers! – Damond Talbot, NFL Draft Diamonds Owner
