NFL Draft, NFL Trade Rumors, Scouting Reports & More

Who will be selected with the top two picks at the upcoming NFL Draft?

Chase Young and Joe Burrow are in the running right now for the top 2 picks but are there others who could take the top spot away?

The NFL season is over. Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl title, ending their 50-year drought and announcing the new era in the most spectacular sports league in the world.

Patrick Mahomes didn’t win the MVP award once again, but he was best when needed the most – in the playoffs. He guided the Chiefs perfectly, each time coming back after a double-digit deficit. Mahomes definitely cemented his place in all the history books, and all that after just two full seasons of playing as a starter. His fantastic arm with unreal creativity will lead the Chiefs for a long time.

Andy Reid and his crew can rest for a little bit, and enjoy their success. However, other teams are working with all of their capacities, because they need to be prepared for the biggest event during the off-season – the NFL Draft.

This year’s draft will be held in Las Vegas, and it is expected from it to launch several potential superstars, who might even be game-changers for their future teams.

The Cincinnati Bengals have the first choice, as the team with the worst record in the previous season. There is almost zero doubt about their pick, and everybody expects them to take the current Heisman Trophy winner, Joe Burrow. Louisiana State Tigers’ quarterback has had a magnificent season during which he set numerous records in the NCAA and, most importantly, led his school to the national title.

Odds on him being the No.1 pick at this year’s draft are 1/25. Chase Young is the second on that list, and the odds on Ohio State’s DE to end up as the first choice are at 10/1. Tua Tagovailoa is third, at 17/1. If it weren’t for his devastating injury, Tagovailoa would probably be Burrow’s biggest rival for the No.1 place. Behind these guys, are QB Justin Herbert from Oregon 25/1, Georgia’s OT Andrew Thomas 50/1, and CB Jeffrey Okudah from Ohio State, 1000/1. Now, there are all sorts of speculations before the draft, especially about potential trades, intentions, etc. At the moment, it seems that the Bengals will pick a QB, and that Burrow isn’t going to force a trade or anything like that.  Also, the Miami Dolphins are targeting Tagovailoa, and they might make a move for getting a higher pick, which would clinch them a long-term solution at the quarterback position. The Dolphins have the right to chose from the fifth position, but we will see if it stays like that until the start of the draft.

The LA Chargers also need a QB, and they might be the biggest rival to the Dolphins for Tagovailoa. Philip Rivers will leave the franchise, which is why Anthony Lynn needs to react fast and find a new leader of his team.

Right now, the side who might be willing to trade down is Washington. The Redskins have four picks in the first round, so they have enough space for a maneuver. It only stays to see which team offers the best deal to them.

It is fun to predict who ends up second. According to experts, here we don’t have the situation clear as with Burrow. Still, the bookies believe otherwise. They think that Young will be behind Burrow, and the odds for him going second are 1/8. Tagovailoa’s are 6/1, Burrow to slide down to No.2 is 14/1, and Justin Herbert 25/1. As always, you can’t be sure in their assessments, because we’ve seen some wild scenarios during the previous draft days. For all of you who love to chase some surprises, Jeffrey Okudah, to be the second pick, is worth 50/1. Do know that many teams need a good CB.

That is it. We are anxiously waiting for the 23rd of April and the start of this event. It will be pretty exciting, particularly because of the venue and the whole ceremony, which will be crazy. All the drafted players will be introduced at the floating platform in Bellagio’s fountain. Previously, they are going to be brought to the stage via boat.

By the way, odds for the next Super Bowl champion are available. The Chiefs lead the way with 13/2. Baltimore Ravens and the reigning MVP Lamar Jackson are behind, 7/1, same as the NFC champions 49ers. New Orleans Saints sit at 12/1, New England Patriots 14/1, same as the Green Bay Packers.
