Ranking the top 8 quarterbacks in the 2020 NFL Draft, Who is our favorite?

We feel one of these three quarterbacks are the best in the 2020 NFL Draft Class. Who do you think we have as the best? Find out below by reading!

Drafting a quarterback is extremely hard because it is not a sure fire thing the guy will turn out to be a superstar. There have been so many quarterbacks selected in the first round who just never panned out. I personally have had some interesting takes on quarterbacks I thought would shine and clearly didn’t (Landry Jones and Josh Rosen). While I am at least honest enough to admit it, let’s look at the quarterbacks in the 2020 NFL Draft and rank them from 1-5 and with a bonus sleeper we like.

This year has some amazing players in the NFL Draft at the quarterback position, but I am not sure many of them will end up being superstars. Many teams are going to draft a player based on need and will likely over draft the player, but let’s break down our top 5 and give them a team that makes the most sense.

Joe Burrow – LSU – The 6040 quarterback from LSU is probably the best prospect in the NFL Draft. I know many had Justin Herbert as the top prospect last year, but it is not close. I think Burrow is the best quarterback and will end up being the first pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Burrow is not an Andrew Luck type of guy, he does make mistakes and I feel he will likely start off slow in the NFL, but he will adapt well over time. Even though I have him as the first player drafted though, you will see my rankings in a little bit to see where he falls.

Justin Herbert – Oregon – The 6060 gunslinger has went up and down in my rankings, but let’s be honest he has really struggled this year. There have been some pretty amazing games where he showed out and then there were games he looked sub-par. He has the NFL arm, he can make the NFL throws and he is a big prospect, the problem is can he lead a team to the promise land? I think the Chargers would be a team that shows interest in Herbert, but I am not sure he will pan out.

Tu’a Tagovailoa – Alabama – He is not your prototypical quarterback. He is barely 6010, but his heart cannot be measured. Tu’a is a player I feel will shock many in the NFL. I loved Baker Mayfield coming out because he was a fiery player but he was super cocky. Tu’a is not very cocky, he has a humbleness to him that makes you like him and he is a proven winner. The Dolphins need to strike early if they want to get this kid but he will be a stud for years to come.

Jake Fromm – Georgia – He has not said he will come out or not and has until the 17th to do so, but if he does I would not be shocked if the Patriots drafted this kid. He has this Tom Brady feel to me, and I think he will end up being one of the better quarterbacks in this draft. If he lands on a team like the Patriots, I could see him taking the team to the Super Bowl. He is a stud and I feel he will end up shocking people.

Jalen Hurts – Oklahoma – I do not care about the size of this kid, he is a gamer. I love his skills and feel someone will strike gold with him. I could see the Steelers trading up in the first round to land him. Hurts is not afraid of much and I think he will shock many people when he is given a shot. If he lands on the Steelers we could have seen the end of Big Ben in Pittsburgh.

Jordan Love – Utah State – Many love his accuracy, especially with his deep throws, and I am sure a team will fall in love with his athletic ability and football IQ. Love has quite a bit to love about him but I feel he is a system quarterback. Even though he is a natural leader, I could see a team like the Colts drafting him and letting him learn from Jacoby Brissett, with a year or two to learn he could be a superstar in the making. If he is thrown the wolves day one, I feel he will sink.

Jacob Eason – Washington – Many like this kid but I feel like he is Ryan Leaf in the making. I hope I am wrong, but when I watch his film he has a strong arm, he can throw the ball all over the field, but I feel he should have stayed his final year. I think Eason would have been a top quarterback in the 2021 NFL Draft but I think he will slide into round 2 and maybe round 3 this draft. Someone will take him because of his size and arm, but I do not think he will be a super star in the league. I could see the Broncos falling in love with this kid.

Anthony Gordon – Washington State – This kid is a gamer, he is a much calmer Gardner Minshew. Gordon threw the ball for 5,596 yards in 15 games this year. Are you kidding me? The 48 touchdowns were impressive too. I know this is a Mike Leach offense, I get it but he is not afraid to throw the ball, that is what you need from a quarterback. I think this kid is a sleeper and on the right team he could end up becoming a starter. I could see the Lions drafting him and placing him behind Stafford. Gordon would be a boss for the Lions.
