Yesterday, the New England Patriots released former Baylor wide receiver Josh Gordon from their injured reserve. He is healthy and can come in and contribute to any team. Today he will go through the waiver wire and I feel these teams need to make a move on Gordon the big time play maker.
Miami Dolphins – This move makes too much sense. Let me explain, Chris O’Shea was his coach last year and he is now with the Dolphins. The Dolphins can bring him in for a trial period, and they can try to extend him or let him walk. If they let him walk guess what, if he signs with another team they have an opportunity at landing a compensatory pick. They have the worst record in the NFL next to the Bengals and I think they would be crazy not to put in a claim for him. I would predict Josh Gordon is a Dolphin by the end of the day, but we are going to have some fun with this just in case he does fall through the cracks.
Buffalo Bills – The Bills have been building a culture and their players have bought into it. The Bills are winning right now and I bet Josh Gordon would love to go up against the Patriots and beat them. He will have the best shot at doing so on the Bills roster. The Bills need a couple wide outs, and Gordon is a big play guy that could be a huge asset to Josh Allen.
Green Bay Packers – Packers have been banged up at WR, but they are somehow getting the job done. Imagine adding Josh Gordon to their WR group, my lord it would be interesting. I know Aaron Rodgers would take him with arms wide open. I could see Gordon turning into a stud and a much love player in Green Bay.
Oakland Raiders – The Raiders have like 40 wide outs on their roster, they are the modern Matt Millen. I would not be shocked if they put in a waiver claim for Gordon. Gordon has never really been a problem in the locker room. He is quiet, he just has a problem with using drugs. With a good mentor like Derek Carr he may be fine. He is not a head case like Antonio Brown.
Arizona Cardinals – The Cardinals have Larry Fitzgerald but the guy is aging. Imagine giving Kyler Murray another player like Fitz? I was comparing Gordon to Fitz before his shortcomings. I think the Cardinals would be a great fit for Josh Gordon. Gordon is a guy that can help move the chains and the Cardinals are moving in the right direction. They will be fine.
