HBCU Heroes: Week 8 standouts who caught the eye of the HBCU Spirit of America Bowl

Deontaye White, WR, Morgan State – Morgan State wide receivers have been pretty impressive this year. Week 8 was White’s time to shine. He hauled in 5 receptions for 96 yards. He is a little wide out but he is quick and has great hands.

Bryant Dallas, RB, Delaware State – This is two weeks in a row we had a Delaware State running back on the list. Dallas balled out this week running the ball 13 times for 102 yards and scoring two touchdowns. The senior running back from Marietta, Georgia looked like a star in the making this week.

Malik Webb, WR, Texas Southern – Texas Southern has a wide out named Malik Webb that had a career game this week. The 6010, 182 pound wide out hauled in 7 receptions for 105 yards and averaged 15 yards per reception. I am a fan of Webb and he looked solid this week. They need to feed him some more this year.

Demetrius Harris, DE, Fort Valley State – Harris is straight up dominating Division 2. The Fort Valley State pass rusher is special. He stands at 6020, and weights 240 pounds and has 11.5 sacks this year already. The Decatur, Georgia native is on my radar. I see YOU!

Steven Newbold, WR, Tennessee State – Newbold is not used enough at Tennessee State. Tennessee State has some studs and while Chris Rowland is getting the ball a lot Newbold is getting open in the end zone. The Carol City, Florida native had 5 receptions for 25 yards but get this he scored on two of those receptions. Get Newbold the ball! Tennessee State has some studs over there.
