Five potential landing spots for Cowboys pass rusher Taco Charlton

Today the Dallas Cowboys have to clear a roster spot to activate DE Robert Quinn and many believe that former first round pick Taco Charlton could be the odd man out.

Taco played in 27 career games for the Cowboys and totaled four career sacks. It’s unlikely that we’ll see a trade materialize for him over the next few hours (a move has to be official by 4 pm ET to elevate Quinn) so in all likelihood he will be released.

If they cannot trade him, let’s look at five teams that should take a flyer on him.

Miami Dolphins – Yes, the Dolphins at this point can definitely use any help at pass rusher. The Dolphins are growing and this is the easy player to take a flyer on a former first round pick that could blossom into a good player under a new coach.

New England Patriots – This is the most Patriots thing ever. I could so see that the Patriots going out in signing Charlton after he is released or sending a late round pick to land him. The Patriots can get players to play hard for them so this makes sense.

Detroit Lions – The Lions love taking players with talent and I could see Matt Patricia going after Charlton. Maybe teaming Charlton up across from Trey Flowers who they signed in the off-season will help him. He would be a great rotational guy for the Lions at this point.

Los Angeles Rams – I think this is a smart move. The Rams could use a pass rusher and I feel Charlton is a guy you can take a flyer on. The Rams lost a lot of rushers, and he could use some coaching.

Houston Texans – The Texans lost Jadeveon Clowney and Charlton would be a good upgrade for right now.

I honestly believe someone will give up a late rounder for him.
